• The Billex, one the latest innovations developed by Maximum®, was developed in collaboration with the Banque de France, the leading banknote producer in the Eurosystem and the partner of choice for major foreign central banks. 

  Printing up to 3 billion banknotes per year in compliance with the most demanding technical, quality and traceability standards, the defective production is shredded, recorded, weighed before being processed into upcycled furniture in the Maximum workshops near Paris. 

  Billex is only composed of shredded banknotes. Without any other added materials. 

  The collection is focused on The EverFit® banknotes, a technology developed by the Banque de France which includes a protective film that increases the resistance of banknotes to abrasion and dirt (cotton substrate, heat-sensitive coating). 

  The shredded banknotes are heated and compressed to obtain a strong, highly resistant material with a smooth surface called Billex. Maximum designs and manufactures affordable, mass-produced furniture from industrial waste, enhancing the true value of production losses by valorising the technological and human expertise involved. Made in France, hand-finished, Maximum products are lifetime guaranteed.
